ES40 Acquires BAM Solutions
CHICAGO - Today, ES40 Technologies CEO Eric Simons announced the immediate acquisition of the 10 man UK based company 'BAM Solutions'. BAM, currently a stealth startup, has been working on a content delivery network similar to Google Adsense and OpenX Ad Server. Their plans were to make their CDN (content delivery network) open source, released underneath the GNU license.
They were founded in October of 2008 and have continued to run their company through the economic downturn. After BAM CEO Doug Martyn discussed a potential acquisition of his company with Simons, it was clear that BAM Solutions held much potential to both ES40 Enterprises as well as its technology subsidiary, ES40 Technologies.
Starting May 15th, ES40 Technologies will be taking control of BAM Solutions for an undisclosed amount and creating "Team BAM", one of five different teams in ES40 Technologies. All ten employees of BAM Solutions will be transferred to Team BAM.
ES40 Tech's current plans with the BAM CDN haven't been publicly announced, but Simons promises,
"We will release an open source version of BAM CDN. ES40 has been (and always will be) an avid supporter of open source software. Between Class-Connect, eWriter, EPS, EISE, and now BAM CDN, ES40 Technologies continues to lead the free generation of the internet." - ESFMM
